Client setup

Three small steps. We handle the rest.

Gerbang Studio handles your website build, deployment and technical setup. You only need to establish ownership of the account that will host your website.

Create account

1. Create your Cloudflare account

Use an email address controlled by you or your business. This account will belong to you — not Gerbang Studio.

  1. Open the Cloudflare Sign Up page.
  2. Enter your email address.
  3. Create your own password.
  4. Select Create Account.

Verify email

2. Verify your email

Cloudflare automatically sends a verification email once your account is created. A verified email is required before account members can be invited — Cloudflare enforces this itself.

  1. Open the verification email sent by Cloudflare.
  2. Select the verification link.
  3. Sign in to Cloudflare if requested.

If the email is missing

  • Check your Spam/Junk folder.
  • If necessary, sign in to Cloudflare → My Profile → Email Address → Send verification email.

3. Invite Gerbang Studio

Once your email is verified, invite Gerbang Studio so we can configure the website without needing your password.

  1. Sign in to the Cloudflare dashboard and select your account.
  2. Go to Manage Account → Members (the Members page).
  3. Select Invite.
  4. Under Invite members, enter the Gerbang Studio email address supplied during onboarding.
  5. Choose the scope and roles requested by Gerbang Studio — see the permission note below.
  6. Select Continue to summary.
  7. Review the invitation details.
  8. Select Invite.

Open the Cloudflare dashboard

That's it. Gerbang Studio can take over the technical setup from here.

Why invite us instead of sharing a password?

Cloudflare supports account members with assigned permissions. This lets Gerbang Studio configure your project through our own login while your password remains private.

Gerbang Studio will tell you which permission to select for your project. For a full initial Cloudflare setup, Administrator access may be requested temporarily — a role with full account configuration access, but no member management and no billing profile control. Super Administrator is only requested when a task genuinely requires it.

You do not need to configure Cloudflare Pages, DNS, SSL, Git or deployment yourself.

What about my domain?

For eligible website packages, one standard domain for the first year is included. Gerbang Studio handles the registration and connection process.

Most standard domains such as .com do not require business-registration documents. Some Malaysian domain categories, such as .com.my, have eligibility requirements and may require business or organisation supporting documents. Gerbang Studio will let you know if anything is needed for your chosen domain.

If the registrar or registry sends an ownership/verification request, we may ask you to approve it. You do not need to configure DNS yourself.

Google Search setup

Google Search setup

After your website is launched on its final domain, Gerbang Studio completes the basic technical search setup so Google can properly discover, crawl and monitor the site.

Depending on the project, this uses one of the two property types Search Console supports — a Domain property (verified with a DNS record) or a URL-prefix property.

What we may need from you

Gerbang Studio handles the technical setup. We may only need you to use or confirm a Google Account that should own the Search Console property.

We will never ask for your Google password, Gmail password, OTP codes or recovery codes.

Your Search Console access stays with you.

Where possible, the client's Google Account remains the property owner. Gerbang Studio can be added with the access needed to complete setup and future support.

Access is managed inside Search Console under Settings → Users and permissions → Add user — no passwords are ever shared.

Temporary preview address vs your final domain

If your website is first previewed on a temporary Netlify or Cloudflare URL, that temporary address is not treated as your final public brand address.

When your custom domain is connected, Gerbang Studio updates the site's production URLs and search configuration to the final domain. This can include updating:

  • Canonical URLs
  • Sitemap URLs
  • robots.txt references where relevant
  • Open Graph / site URLs
  • Structured-data URLs
  • The Search Console property
  • Sitemap submission
  • Indexing checks

Your website itself does not need to be rebuilt — this is configuration and verification work on the live site.

Indexing setup is not a ranking guarantee.

Submitting a sitemap or requesting indexing helps Google discover and process the website, but Google decides whether and when pages are indexed and how they rank. Gerbang Studio does not promise a #1 Google ranking as part of the standard website package.

Ongoing SEO strategy, content optimisation and ranking work are separate services if required.

This guide covers account setup only — about 3–5 minutes. Your normal project materials (business information, logo, text, images, products or services) are collected separately through the usual Gerbang Studio project process.

Gerbang Studio handles all of the above.

Different infrastructure for some projects

Cloudflare is commonly used for suitable standard website projects. Premium or custom systems may require different hosting, databases or third-party services. If so, Gerbang Studio will provide the relevant ownership/setup instructions for that project.

After handover

  • You keep full ownership of the account — it stays yours.
  • Gerbang Studio remains an invited member only if future maintenance has been agreed.
  • Otherwise, access can be reduced or revoked after handover.
  • Domain renewal after the included first year remains the client's responsibility.
  • Paid hosting, upgrades and third-party recurring charges remain the client's responsibility.
  • No compulsory monthly Gerbang Studio maintenance fee.

Security notes

  • Never send passwords by WhatsApp or email — not to us, not to anyone.
  • Never share your email password, 2FA recovery codes or one-time OTP codes.
  • Gerbang Studio never needs your Cloudflare password — access happens through the member invitation.
  • Super Administrator access is requested only when a task genuinely requires it; least privilege always applies.

Cloudflare also supports two-factor authentication. Enabling 2FA is recommended for the account owner — optional, but a good habit.
